Welcome to the Imagination Library of Montgomery County, Maryland
We want children to enjoy and share the magic of books.
As an affiliate of of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, we provide free, age-appropriate books to children from birth to age 5. Each month a carefully selected, new book will arrive in the mail, allowing children to build their own personal libraries, regardless of family income.
We aim to foster the parent-child connection through a love of books. When young children are read to by adults and start learning to read at an early age, they develop literacy skills that prepare them to succeed in school. Books have the power to engage the imagination and contribute to a brighter future!

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library was started by Dolly in her home state of Tennessee in 1995.
She felt that the seeds of children’s dreams could often be found in books. She was further inspired by her own beloved father, who could not read or write. Visit About Us to learn more about Dolly's story and our story! More information about the history and impact of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is available on the national website.
